There is always something exciting happening in the BYU College of Life Sciences. BYU professors including Keith Crandall are using genetic analysis to track viruses such as HIV, H1N1, and Rhinovirus, as well as phages that kill bacteria which can eventually lead to cheese contamination. Wow – the common cold and rotten cheese! That’s some diverse research.

The Microbiology and Molecular Biology Department has appointed Laura C. Bridgewater as chair. Her studies have led her to discover specific mechanisms that control cartilage osteoarthritis genes. New greenhouses are complete, the electron microscope lab has relocated to a larger facility, and the M.L. Bean Life Science Museum is expanding.

But perhaps the most exciting development is the new Life Sciences Building (LSB) that is being built on the south end of BYU campus. It will terrace down the hill toward 800 North in Provo.

So much to look forward to! And if you’re a BYU student looking forward to moving into Provo off-campus housing next semester, you should consider Cinnamon Tree Apartments. We are BYU-approved and are located within walking distance to BYU campus.

Our quality Provo student apartments are affordable, but we don’t skimp on the comforts. We offer BYU single student housing, close to BYU, and Internet. Visit us on the web at http://www.cinnamontreeapts.com/ to take a virtual tour of our apartments.

Time and money. These two valuable commodities rank high on most people’s list of concerns, but for BYU students in the Provo area, time and money are an even bigger deal. Most students are living on their own in Provo for the first time and learning time management proves challenging. Also, in case you haven’t noticed, college is expensive!

Luckily for BYU students, Cinnamon Tree Apartments can help you with your time and money concerns. Cinnamon Tree Apartments is located at 1285 North Freedom blvd in Provo.
We also offer online Provo student housing applications on our website, http://www.cinnamontreeapts.com/. You can even take a virtual tour of our BYU approved apartments. Hopefully, this will help make your move to Provo off-campus housing a little less stressful and time-consuming.

Cinnamon Tree Apartments is also located near Macy, so your grocery shopping can be done in no time. And when our BYU student residents want to go out to eat, these Provo restaurants are nearby: Pizza Factory and Burger King.

If you’ve come from another state to attend college in Provo and live in BYU student housing, you might notice the English spoken here is a little different than the rest of the country. To help you ‘translate,’ here are a few common differences in pronunciation:

The -ord sound is pronounced -ard, as in, ‘I was really bard last night, so I walked to the BYU Creamery for some cheese fries.’
The -eel sound is pronounced -ill, as in, “My friend Jill got a rill diamond necklace from her boyfriend, LaMont.’
The -ail sound is pronounced -ell, as in, “I wish someone would teach me how to parasell behind a speedboat on Utah Lake.’

According to BYU linguistics professor David S. Eddington, despite these pronounced (no pun intended) differences in Utah speech, most variations to English words that are used in Utah are also used in other regions of the country.

I’m Connie Meyers, the manager at Cinnamon Tree Apartments. We are located at 1285 North Freedom blvd here in Provo, and we want all of our student residents to have the best college experience possible, even if there happens to be a language barrier.

Cinnamon Tree Apartments BYU approved housing is conveniently located within walking distance to BYU campus. We are near Macy where you can buy melk and dishwershing detergent. Burger King and Pizza Factory are also close by as well as other Provo attractions.

If you’re looking for BYU approved students, singles off-campus housing for next semester, call me toady at 801-373-8023.

And who knows? Maybe by the time you graduate, you’ll proudly tell everyone you went to skull at the BYU in Provo, and had classes early every Mondee morning, but you were never late because you lived near campus at Cinnamon Tree Apartments.

The students at Cinnamon Tree Apartments are having a great semester. The management team at Cinnamon Tree Apartments appreciates how our Provo student renters contribute to the friendly atmosphere we all enjoy here at our BYU contracted community.

If you are looking for Provo housing for next semester, check out our beautiful facility at 1285 North Freedom blvd in Provo. We have 65 comfortable units with convenient layouts. If you are not yet here in Provo, you can see photos at http://www.cinnamontreeapts.com/. As of this writing, we have a several openings for the upcoming year.

If you have visited the Cinnamon Tree Apartments blog before, you know that we feature local Utah attractions and events that might be of interest to our Provo student apartment residents. We hope you enjoy today’s article about Timpanogos Cave National Monument.

If your perception of a cave is a gray hole in a rock, you have never visited the fascinating tunnels and caverns of this popular Utah County summer destination.

Minerals deposited over millions of years have created shapes called popcorn, helicites, flowstone, and draperies. The variety and abundance of multi-colored formations makes Timpanogos Cave one of the most-visited caves in the country.

To reach the opening, visitors climb 1,160 feet on a 1 1/2 mile paved trail. The hike is as enjoyable as the cave tour (if you are in good shape!) with spectacular views of thick pine forests and upturned layers of deep red sedimentary rock on the steep canyon walls.

Timpanogos Cave is located in American Fork Canyon on Highway 92, ten miles east of I-15 and 17.2 miles from U.S 189. Cave tours are offered daily through the summer season. Tickets can be purchased at the visitor’s center at the trailhead.

To get to American Fork Canyon from Cinnamon Tree Apartments, you have two options. You can travel north on surface streets through Orem, Lindon, Pleasant Grove, and Cedar Hills to get to the mouth of the canyon. Or you can take Provo Canyon Road (U.S. 189) to U.S. 92. U.S. 92 is known by Provo locals as the Alpine Loop. It winds past Sundance Resort linking Provo Canyon to American Fork Canyon. The distance from Provo Canyon Road to Timpanogos Cave is 17 miles. Alpine Loop is a narrow, extremely twisty road that passes through picturesque Alpine meadows revealing breathtaking views of majestic Mount Timpanogos.

Thanks for visiting our Cinnamon Tree Apartments blog.
Hi! Welcome to the Cinnamon Tree Apartments blog. Today we’re going to look at all the fun, famous, and interesting people who spent their college years at BYU in Provo, Utah.

BYU has a great sports tradition, and many professional players are BYU graduates. Steve Young, Jim McMahon, and Ty Detmer have had successful NFL careers, and Jimmer Fredette is expected to be a strong player for the Kings in his first NBA season.

Since Cinnamon Tree Apartments are within walking distance to BYU campus and the sporting events held there, our residents find it easy to attend games and support their Cougars. Maybe you could be watching the next professional sports star to come out of BYU.

For the film and drama majors at BYU, you may be interested to know that the director, writers, and star of the film Napoleon Dynamite were BYU students. Jared and Jerusha Hess, married co-writers, and Jon Heder all met as students at BYU. Authors Orson Scott Card and Stephanie Meyer are both BYU graduates as well as Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings.

I’m Connie Meyers, the manager at Cinnamon Tree Apartments, and we want you to reach your full potential at BYU just as these and many other former students have. We provide quality, off-campus, BYU approved housing at an affordable price. We also offer:

BYU single student housing
close to BYU
Internet
Nearby shopping at Macy
Nearby Provo entertainment at canyon hiking

If you are in need of off-campus housing in Provo that’s BYU approved, please feel free to give me a call at 801-373-8023. You have found the site for Cinnamon Tree Apartments in Provo. Cinnamon Tree Apartments is located at 1285 North Freedom blvd. We offer comfortable and spacious BYU approved apartments. To check availability or apply, call 801-373-8023 or visit http://www.cinnamontreeapts.com/.

In addition to including important Cinnamon Tree Apartments information, the Cinnamon Tree Apartments blog features articles about BYU college life, local Provo apartment events, and Utah County places of interest. Today’s article is about a popular lifetime hobby: golf.

Golf combines two favorite American pastimes: taking long walks and hitting things with a stick. -P.J. O’Rourke.

While relatively few BYU students graduate and enter professional golf careers, countless BYU grads have discovered golf during their college years and pursued it throughout their lives. If you are a golf enthusiast, you are in luck. Utah County has some of the best golfing found anywhere.

A good course for a beginning golfer is Cascade Golf club in Orem located at 1313 East 800 North. From Cinnamon Tree Apartments, travel north on University Avenue to the mouth of Provo Canyon. Turn left on 800 North. Cascade Golf Course is just up the hill on the right.

Beautiful Hobble Creek Golf course is located a few miles up Hobble Creek Canyon in the town of Springville, a small town directly south of Provo.

Hobble Creek Golf Course is an absolutely breathtaking place to play a round in the fall when the leaves are in full color.

If you haven’t ventured far from Provo, it is time to check out the west side of Utah Lake. TalonsCove Golf Club is located northwest of Provo at 2412 South Redwood Road in the town of Saratoga Springs. The Ranches Golf Course is in nearby Eagle Mountain at 4128 East Clubhouse Lane.

Cinnamon Tree Apartments wishes you an enjoyable and successful year. If you know of any BYU students who haven’t secured BYU approved students, singles housing for next semester, refer them to http://www.cinnamontreeapts.com/, our Cinnamon Tree Apartments website.
Hello http://www.cinnamontreeapts.com/ visitors! Thanks for stopping by. Today in our BYU housing blog we want to provide some study tips for all of the hard working students living in Provo off campus housing. Although it goes without saying, any good study plan should start with regular class attendance, organization, and note taking.

While many BYU students find it useful to discover what ‘type’ of learner they are, make sure not to pigeonhole yourself into one set of study techniques. Different subject material may require you to change study tactics.

Don’t rule out old-school study drills such as flashcards, they still help out a lot when Provo BYU students have facts to memorize.

Studying usually is most effective for BYU apartment residents when it is spread out into smaller sessions throughout the day, or when short breaks are taken every 15-20 minutes.

Make sure to take advantage of the various BYU campus resources such as labs, tutors, and teaching assistants.

And don’t forget that it’s important for all students in the Provo area to take care of themselves by eating a healthy, natural diet, getting enough sleep, exercising, and effectively managing stress.

My name is Connie Meyers and I am the manager at Cinnamon Tree Apartments apartments. We provide BYU students with affordable off-campus, BYU approved housing. We are located at 1285 North Freedom blvd in Provo, which is within walking distance to BYU campus.

If you have any questions about our Provo off-campus housing for next semester, give me a call at 801-373-8023, and happy studying!

Welcome to the Cinnamon Tree Apartments blog. This blog is for Cinnamon Tree Apartments residents and BYU students looking for the best off-campus housing in Provo. Today’s article is about the origins of one of the most enduring college sports rivalries in the country, the BYU-Utah rivalry.

Deseret News sports writer Brad Rock explains it this way:

“The earliest sporting event between Utah and BYU was in 1895. A history of BYU’s College of Physical Education indicates that Brigham Young Academy and Utah met for a baseball game. Though details are sketchy, two things about the event were recorded: it ended in a scoreless tie, and there was a bench-clearing brawl.”1

It’s no wonder this match-up has gotten extremely intense, it has been gaining momentum for over 116 years!

Cinnamon Tree Apartments is a great place to start a lifetime of BYU allegiance. While living at Cinnamon Tree Apartments and attending BYU in Provo, you can cheer on the Cougars in football, basketball, baseball, tennis, rugby, gymnastics, or track. If sports isn’t your thing, there is always debate.
